Behaviours season 3 is two new concerts featuring musicians who explore the relationships with new media and sound. Behaviours will feature artist-musicians who work with new media, interactive tools, and/or digital technology, and will call on them to create experimental sound performances. By incorporating sound installation and new media concepts into the concert space, featured artists will create new concert experiences that challenge traditional configurations of the concert space.

Curatorial Statement

Behaviours:Data highlights musicians who compose using unique interpretations of biological data converting into sound signals. On this night we explore the world of data arts and its intersection with sound composition and performance. Behaviours:Data will present the work of bio artists Ananda Gabo and the Technology of Creative Consciousness Collective, who use various foraged data libraries as entry points into creating and interpreting sonic artworks. This concert will explore how computer programming, bio arts, data visualization and sonic representation, spreadsheets, archives, physical computing and other reserves of digital data can be leveraged to create powerful experimental sound art experiences and performances.
