The title “Future, Past, They Disappear” is a line from the Earth, Wind & Fire song “That’s the Way of the World,” and is meant to suggest that the work of the late Ann Southam has a place among the recent works of the living composers here, all of these pieces finding different ways to hold us in a moment.
