ARRAY CO-PRESENTS

Contemporary Strings Workshop

PROGRAM

Join us on Saturday November 15th from 2:00pm-5:00pm for an introductory workshop for string instruments on modern performance practice! The workshop is intended to provide performers with a space to experiment with, learn to interpret and play contemporary music in a low pressure environment. Contemporary techniques such as aleatoric notation, graphic notation, free time, non-traditional uses of the bow and more will be covered. We will review these techniques before applying them in music written for this educational purpose. We will then record our pieces and each participant will receive a copy of the recording. We hope to see you there!

Special Offer for Workshop Attendees!

The Canadian Music Centre (CMC) is pleased to offer all workshop participants an exclusive 50% discount on tickets to the E-Gré Winners Tour concert, featuring Linda Ruan and Stephanie Chua, on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Join us at the workshop to receive your discount promo code!
